AIS Automation Dresden

Industry 4.0 - Securing locations through optimised manufacturing processes

editor, 04 July 2013

- Efficient manufacturing and measures to modernise existing machines.

- 13. User Conference AIS Automation Dresden GmbH.

- Exchange of experiences among users and scientists (from the fields solar technology, semiconductors, automotive and rail technology on Automation projects, automation standards and solution concepts).

Dresden, 20. June 2013. The topic "Industry 4.0" covers a broad range of technical solutions which allow state-of-the-art manufacturing of products in an efficient factory. Here, intelligence already starts with intelligent machine control and continues between the machines of a factory, with logistic areas and beyond. AIS FabEagle® software solutions are a core element in such integrated manufacturing, its algorithms embrace the actual manufacturing know-how condensed from the experience of many people.

With this choice of presentations, the 3 different business units at AIS and their customers presented new, innovative solutions and projects:

The BU Fab Automation showed new concepts for the integration of manufacturing logistics with open SCM systems into existing FabEagle® MES environments. Energy-efficient manufacturing was the focus of a research report by Intel Research.

In a presentation by the TU Dresden, the BU System Integration and Rail Technology highlighted the challenges of globalisation in rail technology. In its presentation of FabEagle® PdM, the BU presented the requirements of proactive maintenance measures.

Following the great success of the parallel session on machine control in the last User Conference, the BU Equipment Control this year again offered presentations related to the control of drives with ToolCommander and solutions for modernising existing machines.

The User Conference was concluded by Sylvère Leu - Chief Innovation Officer at Meyer Burger AG - with examples of the innovation process in an integrated factory using FabEagle® MES, tools for process analysis and intelligent logistic systems.

Next to the numerous presentations, the breaks presented the ideal platform for networking, for demonstrations of the FabEagle® product range, and for discussions. The User Conference was rounded off with an evening event in unique surroundings - the Glücksgas soccer stadium in Dresden. In addition to penalty shooting and a guided tour through the soccer stadium, where Dynamo Dresden avoided relegation and stayed in the Second Division, our guests were able to enjoy the culinary highlights.

Motivated by the tremendous feedback, we will again organise a User Conference for our customers in 2014. The date will be announced on our website in time.

Dresden, 15/2/2010 – AIS Automation Dresden (AIS) received a large order to install its Manufacturing Execution System (VPC-MES) for the factory that is currently under construction in Arnstadt. This factory, which will be used for the manufacturing of crystalline solar cells, is to extend the production capacities of Bosch Solar Energy AG by approx. 400MWp. As a proven and flexible system, the VPC-MES from AIS is already successfully used in four factories that are run by Bosch. The exact contract value was not announced to the public.

With this contract, Bosch Solar Energy confirms its willingness to continue the longstanding and trustful partnership with AIS. AIS’ comprehensive experience across the entire value-added chain from wafer manufacturing and cell production up to module assembly along with their extensive know-how in the implementation of MES solutions in the photovoltaics industry within more than 50 projects worldwide were crucial factors for the award decision. For more than 6 years, with its innovative and reliable VPC-MES, AIS has taken a leading
